Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Went here and happened upon the Tuesday 2.99 margaritas! Got a classic enchilada and the street tacos with pineapple and pork. Amaaaaaazing!! The portions here are reasonably sized and priced, usually with Mexican restaurants I feel so overloaded! Clean nice inside, pretty casual and would be good for a big group. They also have a walled off bar area that is pretty cool!

Delicious. I had the burrito loco, table had salmon, and burritos Rojos, all delicious. Would've given 5 stars but the waiter got hung up on blaming me for not ordering properly. Kinda rude. We had 5 people at our table better to be nice. Food was amazing. Try the fried cheesecake! Definitely worth a stop.

I am in town visiting from Utah and this place is great! Amazing service! Great food! The atmosphere is really nice and calm. I will definitely be back for more.
(5)Chris H.
Had lunch here. Try the Mexican rice bowl- delicious. Great salsa for the chips too. Lunch with a soft drink was $12.
(5)Matthew R.
Went here last night with he family. Had the four enchiladas and found them to lack any real authentic Mexican taste. Not spiced well and they were smothered in sour cream even though I didn't ask for it. Also, ordered a coke and it had a smell to it...must have been the Port Orange water. Salsa was good but that was it. Very subpar overall meal and experience and wouldn't eat here again.
(2)Jeff R.
Food is good . its hard to mess up mexican food.i personally liked it before the remodel..salsa is great. Place is pricey . i perfer resturaunts that have good food instead of serving mexican food on a fancy square plate.like gourmet resturaunts do and swirl sauses on the food .im not into that .i would of gave the old resturaunt 4 stars

I took my parents to dinner last night and as we were all having a good time enjoying the good food. another party was there having a birthday party all of a sudden the staff went over to their table, dropped a tray which created a horrific sound like a gun shot went off all to sing happy birthday. My father who has bad heat problems almost had a heart attack from the sound of the tray hitting the ground. It wouldn't of been so bad is the staff would of come around and gave other guest a warning as to what was going to happen. Maybe the manager should take in to consideration when they have a birthday party in their restaurant. Thank god there wasn't anyone from the military in the restaurant that had just come back from Iraq. ..

My brother in-law is a regular at this place and told took us there to try the Margaritas. I don't know how they get the ice so fine and the flavor was amazing. The only criticism for the Margarita was it did not need all of the green food coloring it was outstanding without it. My wife and I only did appetizers the the Ceviche was OK, but the Guacamole was terrible it lacked seasoning and had huge chunks of avocado that had not been ground down. My brother in-law had the Enchiladas and they looked excellent.
(3)S 'n T R.
Clean and great staff. We had fish tacos but they were bland and the michelada was too sour. If you're looking for authentic...I would pass on this.
(3)Holly D.
Been there twice with friends and family and loved it both times. We were all very happy with our meals each time and would go back in a heart beat! Delicious food, good atmosphere, yummy drinks, decent prices, what else do you need?
(5)Deborah M.
Had to leave Mexican restaurant called salsalittos because could not get waited on. When to the always consistent reliable friendly LA fiesta. Service always great food always good service always great. Never again will I try a new Mexican place in daytona. LA fiesta has my vote hands down
(5)Brenda R.
the best dangest mexican food around! !! i look at other restaurants to this one! ! the best dang queso you have ever had! # the staff is awesome! 5 stars la fiesta!! highly recommended! !
(5)Yasmine F.
I came for a friend's birthday. We waited for over an hour to get a table, then the service was spotty and slow. The drinks look delicious...but looks are deceiving. I had the blueberry mojito...sounded great...not so much in execution. The berries were frozen so they had no sweetness to add their flavor to the drink. I had a typical chicken, beans, and rice meal. I also had the queso...which left much to be desired. It tasted like melted plastic. My meal was okay. Nothing spectacular...but definitely not bad wither. The ambiance was nice in this place though. But it's not some place I will frequent.
(2)Lynn S.
It was one of those days where I just felt like I needed to treat myself to a good meal out and one good, delicious cold adult cocktail, something I rarely do for myself. La fiesta was a good choice, the drink was fab and the shrimp fajitas I loved. I must say I opted for the pricier dinner sized portion 15$ and felt like I paid to much. I suggest the lunch portion is just as satisfying and lighter on the wallet.

This place is one of the more "hip" Mexican joints. The interior design is very modern. It almost feels like a Japanese steakhouse or something like it. The food is great! I've been here many many times and tried most of the items on the menu. The Burrito Loco is a popular choice. Nothing but good things to say about it. If you're really hungry or if you like to order items off of the menu that come with a lot of food, then look no further. This burrito is gargantuan! My favorite item on the menu is the Mar Y Tierra. It's grilled skirt steak atop a bed of cilantro rice, with grilled shrimp and their signature queso sauce drizzled all over. Nothing beats this dish, in my opinion. It's a must try! It's also worth noting that I've come here for my lunch break (one hour) a few times and I've never been late going back to work. That's how fast the service is here!!
(4)Andre M.
I came here as a treat after attending my graduation from Keiser University. It was a pleasant experience and the food is most definitely Mexican. Love it will be back for Christmas as I come here for special occasions. Great job employees of la fiesta you are going an excellent job.
(5)Michael C.
Three stars but I almost gave it four had it not been for our horrible waiter (Juan M.)... I am a huge fan of customer service and there was none on our first visit to this highly recommended restaurant. We just moved to Port Orange and have not had any good Mexican food since we left Dallas. The atmosphere was very nice and unexpected for this small town and area. Our waiter (Juan M.) greeted us and we ordered drinks and some queso and I asked for ground beef in the queso. He brought out a bowl of white queso and a bigger bowl of ground beef on the side. I have never seen it served this way but the queso was great and the beef was tasty too when I added it the sauce. Chips were good as well. We ordered our food the chicken and spinach enchiladas and it came out about ten minutes later. Juan brought it out and that was the last we saw of him all night. We were finished with our chips and queso and drinks as well, no offer for a refill on anything. The enchiladas were great, we did not really see any spinach but it did have a green sauce on it. We were very pleased with the food, in fact we both thought it would even rival the best of Dallas, Gloria's Restaurant. We will certainly be back to try more but will be sure we never get Juan M again. He dropped off our food and basically was gone for about 20 minutes. We sat there with empty drinks, food eaten and no sign of Juan M. We were sitting in a booth on a Wednesday night at 7pm. The place was not busy and we had three or four waiters passing by us and no one stopped by to check on us or refill our drinks or anything. We did want some more chips and salsa and something to wash down those great enchiladas but nothing. We even put our empty glasses and salsa cups on the side of the table and no one got the hint. I finally just pulled out my credit card and put it on the table. I think it was another waiter who finally stopped and got the card. Where did Juan go? Who knows but I just had to leave a 10% tip and a note that the food was awesome and the service was horrible. We will be back and we will not sit for Juan M again! He needs to go.
(3)Anne L.
Terrible food. Even worse margaritas. Skip this place -- your stomach (and palette) will thank you.
(1)Beth H.
Generally good, except that fish tacos smelled and we returned them. We were not charged for them which we were very thankful for. The house margarita was on special but tasted awful and I didn't even drink half of it but others in the group got different ones which they enjoyed. So all in all it was hit or miss which in my mind is three stars.
(3)Sandra B.
The food here is extremely bland. The food has no flavor. The guacamole has oil in it - to me that is a crime against nature. I only go here if forced by friends for $3 margarita Tuesday. The margaritas are also too sweet and no alcohol.
(1)Leah B.
A step up from your typical Mexican restaurant. The menu is overwhelming but everything we have tried so far has been great! The salsa is good and the chimichurri was excellent! The service is hit or miss. This time we had a wonderful waitress who was very attentive. Overall a great experience.
(4)Ashley B.
I liked this restaurant much better before the renovations. The food is still really good but I cannot stand the environment. It is way too loud! When I go there with my family we can't hear each other and find ourselves yelling over the din. It really ruins the meal. It would be okay if you like a rowdy bar atmosphere, but not for a family or romantic dinner. It makes me sad because this is where my husband and I had our first date. I will continue to eat here via take out but I dread having to have a sit down meal here.
(3)Sean O.
Service was good till we received our diner drinks were week ordered a shot for our Margarita waitress never came back till bill time my diner was a house special steak with shrimp and their special sauce. The steak was paper thin and she had asked how I would like it cooked I said medium not knowing how thick it wasI don't think any chef cook cook a steak that was that thin medium rare will never go back sorry it was there special.
(1)Phil N.
Friendly waiters and great food. Authentic Mexican at its best!! The menu has a wonderful selection of Mexican food and the prices are reasonable. Pictures on the menu are wonderful and colorful.
(4)Bill M.
Every dish we've experienced, from the chimichanga to the guacamole, is a home run. The adult drinks are also well-crafted. Always the place to dine when you crave great Mexican food.
(5)Pamela C.
Wonderful restaurant. I love their Chilaquiles Fiesta, even though its supposed to be a breakfast item, homemade ranch and shrimp chimichangas! OMG. It was my first date place. Cuz the food was awesome, inexpensive, and quick to your table with a full bar and awesome margaritas!
(5)Dianna W.
Based on our last few visits I'm going with 3 stars since I can't do 3 1/2 and it's not a 4 (any more).. The portions are much smaller than they used to be for the fajitas. My husband was disappointed... Service was good. Quality of the food just doesn't seem the same as precious visits..
(3)Heather E.
The food was great. I know that then were slammed but the music was so loud you could not hear anything else. The waiter disappeared after we order.
(3)Shelby C.
Great food & ambiance during every visit. Anything you order will taste delicious and the servers are great. Once I went & a server didn't greet us until about 5 minutes later and they offered us free dessert!
(5)Chris D.
As you all know i love Mexican food. So i pride myself on reviewing each place with an open mind , great service, authentic flavor, the presentation was good with a modern feel. I enjoyed the sampler that included carna asada and it was very good i recommend la festa here in port orange
(4)Beth M.
I just love this restaurant, been going there since it opened. The food just gets better and better. The service is always fast and some of the waiters have been there for years. The price is also reasonable. I love the Chilie rellanios. It has either beef or chicken and just the right amount of cheese. My favorite place.
(4)Meresa M.
The atmosphere is modern and clean. The food was good. The waiter was attentive. The food and drinks came out out FAST! I have no complaints.....EXCEPT. .. I wish there was one closer to jax!
(5)Sherry M.
The food is good and service is great but beware of food poisoning. My friend got really sick from the shrimp!
(3)John N.
The food is well worth the money spent here. I was impressed with the level of cleanliness and decoration of the restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing. My boyfriend had a steak chimichanga, when I took a bite of his dish, my mind was blown and regret ordering a burrito roja. The service at this restaurant was extraordinary and was very quick with serving us food and attending to us at all the right moments, compared to other restaurants that either attend to us too much or too little. These guys are amazing and I will have to start inviting my friends here. The only dessert that was really good was the Churros, I didn't quite enjoy the Flan too much. This restaurant is definitely worth the visit.
(4)Gus A.
Very good food and atmosphere. First time here and I am very critical of Mexican food but I was not disappointed at all. The staff was friendly and service was very good. I would definitely return here and would highly recommended to anyone looking for Mexican food.
(4)Bill W.
This is the best Mexican we have found in the DB area. Fresh ingredients, reasonable prices and real drinks. It is refreshing to find quality service and food without breaking the bank. My chili relleno might have been the best I have ever had and the enchiladas, taco, and other items we sampled were outstanding.
(4)Susan L.
This place is amazing! My first time having Mexican food and it was delicious. If you enjoy spicy food as much as I do, then you'll love trying the food here. I ordered a Steak Mexicano which comes with 3 flour tortillas, rice and beans. It was delicious and extremely filling. The platters that they serve are huge in comparison to American cuisine but the price is the same. I came here for a friends birthday and if you tell the waiters that, they will surprise your friend with this fancy sombrero. It was hilarious! They literally sneak up on you and place the sombrero on the birthday boys hat and sing happy birthday. It's an amazing place!
(5)Gregg H.
The food here is always consistent. Prices have increased somewhat in recent years but a great spot for quality Mexican food.
(4)Jessica J.
Well, I'm going out on a limb here... But I'm going to have to go ahead and say that my experience was very much less than stellar. So less than stellar that I am going to have to stray on to the narrow path of deducting a star from my previous review. Trust me. I really hate to do this! First, let me say that the remodeling is fantastic! The newly designed space gives a contemporary, urban feel that I like. I somewhat feel as if I'm not in my hometown of Port Orange, FL. Plus the starry lighting fixtures are really cool. The bar seems much larger than before for some reason. And I still love the variety of the menu. But my food was just sub par. I think this was due to my food having sat for quite a while before being served to me. I was immediately disappointed by my rice being served COLD. It was way past lukewarm. Just straight up cold. Such a shame as I do like their rice. Also, my quesadilla was wet and soggy. Any juice from the filling had ample time to sit and soak through the bottom of the quesadilla, creating a wet, soggy mess that fell apart. I had to eat my quesadilla with a spoon, basically scooping out the filling. Disappointed again. I would expect to see something like this when the dish has sat for a while. Not upon the immediate serving of freshly prepared, hot food. Our server quickly brought plates of fresh, hot rice for us and did try to rectify the problem. She was very gracious and amicable. In fact, she was the saving grace for our experience. Overall, based on my experience, I'm going to have to say, "Meh, I've had better." Hence, the two stars. I hope to return again to have a more positive experience.
(2)Jeremy G.
Pretty good but nothing to really brag about. Typical Mexican food. Service was pretty good and if you go on Tuesday it's $1.99 margarita night. Ole'
(4)Valerie S.
Love the margaritas!!! The food and the service is great. Very trendy and an upbeat atmosphere. The patio outback is nice even when its cold. They have heating lamps all along the outside. I frequent here at least once a week.
(5)G S.
Giant Guacamole. Had the Mexican surf n turf, mar terra. Great. Homemade chips and salsa w/a ranchero dip. Yum. Large mango margarita. Very well prepared. Highly recommend.
(5)Danielle N.
We have yet to find anything on the menu that we don't like. The food is fantastic. We love to bring friends in.
(5)Chelsea H.
So delicious. Got the Mar y Tierra and it was heavenly. Perfectly cooked asada steak. The atmosphere is fun and clean and the service was exceptional. Definitely will be back!
(5)Colin K.
Food is definitely quality...we showed up close to closing and I didn't want to be an ass and take forever to order so I kind of just pointed at something on the menu. Got the pork/pineapple tacos (forget what they were called- street tacos something or other) but they were AWESOME! A little pricey for the food, but the quality is great, all you can eat chips, and $2 margaritas on Tuesdays! Can't beat it.
(5)Michelle V.
Took the family to La Fiesta last night, and holy cow, what a surprise, and not a pleasant one, either! We are frequent travelers to Daytona Beach and ALWAYS have used La Fiesta as our Mexican-go to. They have recently remodeled and it seems that they tore the old place out, and replaced the decor (which is actually very cool now) but EVERYTHING else ~ including the recipes, food prices, quantities and taste has changed for the worse. First of all, who charges $15.99 for a beer margarita, unless you are at some bar on the beach being served by a hot guy in a Speedo? Okay, I digress. We arrived on a Saturday night to find immediate seating on the patio, which we were cool with, but I must say that being sat at a table where there were 20 salt and pepper shakers and 10 sugar-holder things was just bizarre. No kidding on this, the host shrugged his shoulders when we asked about it. From there, the chips and salsa were as yummy as they have always been, but then things went wrong, very wrong. We ordered the chicken/steak fajitas and they came out with some sort of weird red tint to them. The dish with the lettuce, cheese, etc plate came out so hot that it burned my hand when I tried to move it. In fact, it was so hot that the cheese all melted into a lump. Oddly enough, the hot plate didn't seem to have any effect on the 2 tablespoons of fried rice that they served on the same plate (it was ice cold). Having enjoyed the chips and salsa pre-meal, we were unable to finish our fajitas and took them home with us. Well, we tried. About 10 minutes after leaving none of us were feeling too great, and the smell of the leftovers permeated our car and made us all nauseous, thus the take out box was promptly thrown away before we even returned home. Not sure what happened in the remodeling and attempted upgrading project of this place, but please, go back to the way "it used to be". Not everything needs to be reinvented!
(2)Sean B.
My wife and I have been going to La Fiesta pretty much since it first opened. We're always warmly greeted by their friendly staff and the food is always excellent. I posted a review on Yelp 4/2011, before the remodel, and I was surprised to see anyone saying negative things about what they've done. I've been there a dozen times since they reopened and I really enjoy the new atmosphere. I stand by my original review of La Fiesta. I've never once been disappointed by anything there -- the food, drinks & service are still the best you will find anywhere!
(5)Sarah R.
This place is awesome. The food quality, portion sizes, price, and service are definitely on point. I especially like their pulled chicken flautas and cheese chile rellenos. Their margaritas are definitely worth trying although they are a little pricey if you don't get them on Tuesday.
(5)Valerie H.
Their food is good but it's a little expensive. Their drinks, specifically the margaritas, are very tasty and decent priced if you make it for happy hour.
(3)Saúl R.
Great contemporary kick to a traditional, authentic Mexican cuisine. Even the bathrooms have nice faucets, and as you walk in the doors, a glass waterfall greets you. The waiters work in collaboration, very quick and efficient. The food is well seasoned and not dry at all. Even the coke has a great CO2 to Syrup ratio at the right temperature. I'd definitely come back again to visit.
(5)Melly H.
Ok, update. My bf took me here for lunch the other day, just to see if things had changed any & YAY! They changed the music! Now they play authentic latino music at a more tolerable level & I actually enjoyed my dining experience. Now, it's the diners who are loud, but that's to be expected since nobody knows how to control the volume of their bratty kids. Oh well. Can't have everything my way, huh? So I noticed they've added a few items to their menu, of which I ordered the Texas Taquitos. They were absolutely delicious! Nice & crisp with a plateful of fresh sides. I think I have found my newest addiction. And as usual, the chips were warm & fresh and the salsa tastes like it's homemade, absolutely mouthwatering. The sweet tea was perfect, on a scale of 1-10, I give it an 11!
(4)Nicole S.
I went to La Fiesta on a short trip back from Daytona Beach to Ocala. My dad had actually recommended this place to me. He spoke very highly of it and mentioned the good reviews he had seen online. He said everyone in my family had liked it, and if everyone in my family likes it and agrees, it's a definite must try! I am pleased to say i was quite impressed with the service and decor. It's very modern and has quite the selection of food and drinks. I live in California, but anytime i'm visiting Daytona, I will have to stop by and grab lunch or dinner! I'm very satisfied with my whole experience. The food was very unique tasting and yummy! whoever owns/manages this place is doing something right! I recommend this place to everyone!
(5)Jan J.
First visit here. My wife chose this place for us out of lots of Hispanic restaurants, and as usual, her selection was spot on! We were initially told that it would be 20 minutes before our table would be ready. However, once we told the hostess that we would like to be seated outside. She said OK and we were seated outside immediately which was nice even though it was raining when we arrived. It stopped by the time we sat down. My wife recommended a cocktail from their drink menu called "Sex On The Border" It was excellent! I ordered the Plato Grande, which was a combination of Mexican specialties such as grilled marinated skirt steak, one chicken tamale topped with mole sauce and queso fresco. One picadillo enchilada topped with tomatillo sauce and cheese. Served with rice, charro beans, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole and pico de gallo. For the most part, it was really good, but there was one part that had an off taste to it. It brought to mind the scene in Dennis The Menace where Mr. Wilson (Walter Matthau) was eating with his wife in their backyard. He stopped, and said to his wife who noticed that he stopped eating, "Tastes funny." I don't know how many of you remember that movie, but that's exactly how I felt. The decor was very nice, the bar looked very cool. The staff was very friendly, our waitress, who didn't introduce herself, was very nice, professional, and knowledgeable about the food, when my wife questioned her about some choices she was debating. All in all, our experience here was excellent, and we will definitely be coming back again the next time we visit Port Orange.
(4)Skoobasteve R.
Got the fish tacos. Loved them. Went with 12 of us on my last day in the area. I think the decor is great but can see how patrons before the remodel might not like it since its not the typical tile and terra cotta theme. Great service
(4)Sally C.
The tortilla soup was really good seemed to have everything in it but the kitchen sink!! My husband ordered mat y terra and really enjoyed it. I ordered the street pastor tacos, I thought they were ok. My hubby also ordered fiesta sampler appetizer, I tried the spinach dip it came with again just ok, he liked the rest. We both didn't like the white sauce that comes with the chips and salsa when you are seated. Best part the soup!
(3)Sterling Y.
It's always pretty good. The street tacos are to die for. Atmosphere is beautiful. Always friendly I go couple times a month . It can get very busy
(4)Diane G.
Wow my first review. I live in California and have eaten in many Mexican restaurants. I was very impressed by the variety on the menu and found it hard to order. I ordered the fajitas, my usual fav. They were very tasty but are coated in a spicy sauce which was overwhelming. I had them add vegetables as I don't consider onions and a slice of bell pepper a vegetable. We also ordered a quesadilla with shredded beef. Very good. Would definitely go back. But order chicken without sauce.
(3)Diego D.
Good drinks and nice remodel.
(4)Adrian S.
Taking the FUN out of Fundido... When we arrived, we made our way through the throng of twenty-somethings hanging outside clinging to their cheap margaritas. It was like walking into a frat party. Oddly enough there's a sign next to the front door on the way out that clearly states "No Alcoholic Beverages Beyond This Point".... I guess no one enforces that. We waited for about 20 minutes and finally got a table. (It was a busy night. Cheap margaritas. See above...) The wait staff was fine and courteous and brought us to a little table in a crowded corner of the restaurant. The salsa and chips they brought were fresh and spicy. Not bad for the start of the meal. But that's about where it ended. Guacamole listed as "fresh" should not be ice cold, watery and taste of nothing but lemon juice. Last time I checked it's made with lime and should taste of avocados. And you'd think if it was freshly made, it would be room temperature. This was on the border of being frozen. Perhaps it had been freshly thawed. Usually, tacos al pastor are made with adobo pork and every time I've had it before the pork was in chunks or shredded. This was ground pork with no taste of adobo. Or of anything else for that matter. Even the pork tamale I added was flavorless. Though, I admit, it would have been hard to tell. Because apparently, La Fiesta's definition of Mexican food is to cover everything in chopped onions, shredded cilantro and have a Mexican serve it to you. I'll leave this place to the party crowd and their $1.95 margaritas.
(2)Randy M.
It doesnt look much like a mexican restaurant on the inside. And for what ever reason there's a lot of customers standing around like its some kind of scene. Luckily our party got a table on the far end of the patio away from all the hoopla. There's a vibe about this place that people come to drink only, in fact the table next to ours had only 1 person out of six get anything to eat. That said, the food was good, liked the fresh chips and salsa. I got the steak chimichunga, but wish it had come with beans. I was still hungry afterwards.
(3)Bella D.
I am writing this review for my parents. We used to go here every time we visited Florida and loved it. My parents JUST left La Fiesta now. I asked them, "How was it?" My dad said, "Horrible. It has been going downhill for a long time now." I asked my mom, and she, "Gross. Not as good as it used to be. It was like the beef was watered down with no seasoning." My dad said the sauce over the tacos/burrito was like spaghetti sauce. He said he literally took two bites and pushed it aside. I think they must have changed the recipes, and they are going to lose customers over this. La Fiesta, why? What are you doing? You're screwing up!
(1)Les T.
Used to be my favorite Mexican in the area. Until they renovated and changed the menu/recipes around. Now it is maybe 5th best Mexican restaurant in the area. Spoke with the owner one night and asked why they messed with perfection. Poor guy said "his kids made him do it."
(3)Ophelia B.
I came here for a party with friends of friends. The margaritas were great and being poured from different pitchers. They told me that this was the best Mexican restaurant in the area. This was my first experience with a Mexican restaurant in Northeast Florida. I usually prefer Asian. Great times!!!!
(5)LaToya B.
Love the chimichanga!! The chips and white sauce taste great! The service has been a hit or miss but love the decor!
(4)Mike W.
I think they keep removing my review. I will just keep posting it. they think this is a dance club or something with the techno music blasting. What happened to Mexican music in a Mexican restaurant? ???
(1)Ellie D.
Perfect Mexican food, we had the Bajilo Salads with Steak, the kids had burritos with chicken, the kids menu is great and a lot of food, even for our hungry 12 year old, and about $5! Salsa was super fresh, chip hot outta the fryer!
(5)Matt B.
Great food, nice atmosphere, I even liked the music. Dinner with family, service was fast. They brought warm chips and salsa as soon as we sat down. We were in and out in less than an hour on a weekday. I had the carne asada tacos with flour tortillas, as I am not a corn tortilla fan. Well seasoned steak with onions and cilantro, and it came with a couple slices of lime which I squeezed over the tacos. The flavor was outstanding! My wife had the al pastor street tacos (pork and pineapple) and loved it. Dad had grilled fish tacos, mom opted for a chicken chimichanga and everyone enjoyed their food.

We are back for the second time. I actually started writing this review just after we ordered but the food came too quickly for me to finish. He had the carnitas tacos and I had the al pastor tacos with adobo pork and pineapple. Both came on corn tortillas and were delicious. The sweet tea was just sweet enough and perfect with lemons added. We will definitely come back again.

I used to love this place for the endearing, kitschy, family atmosphere. The remodeling has changed the place into a 20-something bar scene. Don't get me wrong. It's attractive, but kinda cold with all the black, red, chrome, and spot lighting. Also the mariachi music is gone. Now you get Pitbull and JLo. I suppose if La Fiesta wants to cater to the college students, they are right on target. Looking forward to the Mexican restaurant that's supposedly going in by Publix.

Food is salty and the management is clueless. My wife found a rock hard pea sized "something" in her salad that would have broken a tooth if she bit down on it.. The manager did NOTHING. No, I'm sorry and what can I do to make this right. Did not offer to remake the salad or let her pick out something different. They did not offer a price adjustment, complimentary drink or dessert. Just said it was an uncooked black bean and whisked it away.

Good food. Very tasty. Great margaritas.

The food is standard, cheesy, filling Mexican but nothing stand out. It is usually just a compliment to one of their extremely cold beers or strong margaritas. It seems to be a spot to drink first and enjoy food and free chips second to be honest but it does not stop me or many others from keeping this place consistently busy.

I had the Carne Asada-- IT was great! It comes with 2 med-thin char-grilled rib-eye steaks--with tortillas, cheese, beans, sour cream etc. I have been living in the area for about 9 years but Unfortunately since writing my original review the prices have gone way way up to a level of disappointment---I won't be back! Salsas has a few better dishes, is much cheaper and only a few blocks away!

Best drinks and food of any Mexican place I have been to. Perfect for groups. Everyone can find something on the menu and I haven't had anything that I didn't like.

The service was very, very slow. The chips and salsa were great. We waited forever for our food. When it finally came it was ice cold. We won't be going back.

I had a good time here. I went for lunch and got a combo plate which was plentiful and well-priced. The food was what I expected and the staff was good. It seems like a fun place to go for a birthday. There were several on the other side of the room and the little song-and-dance type of thing the staff did was amusing.

Giant pitchers of margarits and tasty chips and salsa. Once you try this place you will think of it every time you get a craving for Mexican.

Friendly staff...everyone called me amigo, which I found funny. Standard chips and salsa. Be sure to ask for flour tortillas, other wise you will be disappointed. But all in all a solid Mexican joint. Can't really go wrong with anything on the menu.

I think they have improved upon their food considerably since they first opened, must have been years though so I would assume they get better with time. Everyone you could come to expect from a mexican restaurant. Good margaritas(strong), great chips and salsa and good food. A fun spot if theres a bunch of friends and also a nice patio. I still like Maria Bonita's better.

Read the other reviews and decided to try it - actually, we wanted to go to another restaurant but heard it was out of business along with many others here in Dayton Beach. The chips were good, the salsa so-so, and some strange white dip was served with the chips and salsa. I couldn't figure out quite what it tasted like. I thought it was Ranch dressing, but it didn't taste anything like it. I ordered a chicken chimichanga and my husband ordered a beef chunk chimi. They were ok, nothing special and I really disliked the cheese sauce that was poured over the chimi - it was like a pale Velveeta melt. I ordered Fried Ice cream for dessert and was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived - it was huge and very delicious! It was served in a fried tortilla shell, with a very large scoop of ice cream covered with it's crunchy coating and drizzled with caramel sauce and then absolutely covered with fluffy whipped creamed and topped with a cherry. It was definitely the high light of the meal. So, overall the food wasn't great but I would go again and try a different dish.
